Yam And Ginger Soup

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 hours

Serves: 8


3 large yams, peeled and grated
2 pears, seeded and cut into chunks
1 red pepper, chopped
1 stalk of celery, chopped
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
2" ginger, grated
2 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp turmeric powder, or fresh, grated
1 tbsp sea salt
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
1/4 tsp ground pepper
4 cups of water


Place all ingredients except the pears, into a crock pot and cook for 2 hours on high until tender.

Add the pears as the soup cools, then transfer all ingredients to a food processor or use an immersion blender.
