Basic Guacamole

Preparation Time: 12 minutes

Serves: 6


2 - 3 ripe avocados, mashed
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Sea Salt to taste
1 fresh lime juice
Fresh Cilantro, chopped to taste


Cut avocados in half and use a spoon to scoop out fruit. Mash with a fork or with a mixer. Add finely chopped onion, minced garlic and sea salt. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with chopped cilantro. Add the juice of 1 lime or lemon to prevent the avocado from darkening.

For chunky guacamole, add bell peppers, cucumber, tomato or olives. For creamier guacamole, add yogurt, kefir or sour cream.
