Rutabaga Yam Puree

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes

Serves: 6


1 lb. Rutabaga
1 lb. Yams
4 to 5 Tbsp. Butter
Pinch of allspice
Sea Salt to taste


Peel rutabaga and cut into large chunk. Boil them in salted water until tender, about 30 minutes depending on size. Drain and put them through a food processor or blender directly into a large saucepan.

Cut the yams into chunks and boil them in salted water until tender, about 10 - 15 minutes depending on size. Drain and put them through food processor or blender into saucepan with rutabaga. Add butter and reheat the vegetables over medium heat, stirring until the butter is melted and puree is hot throughout. Season with a pinch of allspice and sea salt to taste. Serves 6.
