Braised Beets With Apples And Nutmeg

Cooking Time: 1 hour 30 minut

Serves: 6


5 Beets, cooked, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3 tart apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 small onion, sliced thinly
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 lemon, zest and juice
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. sea salt
1/2 tsp. fresh grated nutmeg


Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease a shallow casserole or baking pan.
Toss beets, apples and onions. Dot with butter, and sprinkle with the lemon juice and zest, sugar, salt and nutmeg. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the cover, give the mixture a stir, and cook for 10-15 minutes more. Serve hot.
